My Beauty Staples

Every girl has their beauty essentials and I thought I'd share some of mine with you.

Before I apply my make up I use Mac Fix + which is my absolute saviour. It keeps my make up on all day in every single weather condition. It sets my make up perfectly and leaves my face with a perfect dewy glow, it also adds hydration and is a great finish. I have the 100ml bottle and its lasted me for over 3/4 of a year now and I still have about a months worth left. It is so worth it and I would recommend this product to everyone whatever your skin type.

My next beauty must have is Sudocrem. Given that this product wasn't originally designed to treat spots, it is brilliant. It can transform giant spots over night to small pink marks and while you continue to use it they completely disappear. It is great for dried skin, rashes and spots and I would recommend this product so much although your skin can get used to this cream so it would be best to use it only twice a week so that your skin will still respond to it.

The next beauty product I'm going to talk about is Johnson's Baby Lotion. It may be directed  towards babies but I am 17 and still using this. It makes my skin so soft and after I use it, it makes it feel so nourished. Not to mention it smells amazing! It doesn't make my skin feel greasy at all and soaks in very quickly. I use it everyday and I feel so much smoother and it is really cheap unlike high end lotions.

Next is my foundation. Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation is a dream foundation. It gives a very full coverage which is something I like and is easily squeezed out of the small tube that it comes in. When I wear this over Mac Fix+ it gives me the best complexion and a nice dewy glow. It covers all of my blemishes, dryness and redness really well and is the perfect base for my face. I use a small sponge to apply this foundation and I use Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to set it. I can't rave anymore about this product, it is just perfection in a tube.

Next is fake tan. We all secretly love fake tan as it gives us a healthy glow when we're dying of colds in the winter and especially this time of year when its starting to warm up. I use two different types and have used these specific products for years now. If I want a lasting tan then I use St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse. I have tried a lot of long lasting tanners and this is by far my favourite. It gives instant colour but you have to wait a while for it to dry out but it is definitely worth it.

The other fake tan I use is Rimmel Instant Tan. Firstly the smell of this tan is amazing! It gives naturally brown colour and is great for a quick application if your going to a party and don't have time to get ready. I use it with a lotion to get the best coverage all over my body. It blends well and washes off instantly when you shower.

I hope you enjoy my beauty essentials for now, there will be more soon for hair!

Pay-day Splendour

Like everyone else, when pay-day comes along I tot up a massive list of things that I'd like to buy and here are some that made this months list!

So far I have ordered some beautiful bits from ZARA. This amazing red handbag and Jacquard Pattern Top. Hopefully they'll match well together as this bag will be my new favourite, I can tell!

Also I have bought some great bits from Escentual. Firstly, the Dior SkinFlash Primer which I am eager to try as its had really good reviews saying "signs of fatigue and a dull complexion are swept away" because it is tinted so hopefully will give some light coverage. As I am one for late nights I thought I might as well give it a go, so that when I have a night out and need to go somewhere the next day but don't feel like putting on heaps of make up I can use this!

The second product I bought from Escentual was the Calvin Klein CK One Shock Street Edition Eau de Toilette Spray for a cheeky price of £19.50. I'm excited to smell this because I've had my perfume which is the Dolce and Gabbana 3 L'Imperatrice for a while and thought I might need a change!

I hope you enjoy these little purchases. I have also splurged on a holiday with my friends to go to Magaluf in July so I can get shopping for bikinis, tanning oil and beautiful beach clothes soon!

LES MISERABLES

I have just seen this film and I tell you honestly it is one of the best films I have seen.

With a cast full of great names such as Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter.

As a lover of musical theatre and a hopeful actress myself I was eager to see this film. Their singing is sensational and I can't believe they sang it all live on set while filming. They deserve every award they get for this film because I sat in the cinema and felt the emotion all the way through it. Perfect acting and great breakthrough performances from Samantha Barks who played Eponine and the little girl that played the young Cosette.

Its not a film to wait for the DVD. Go and see it now!

Kimberley's Trousers

Kimberley looks absolutely stunning in the peg leg trousers and I am in love with them and definately need some! I have found some at Topshop which I think are either the real ones or a very good lookalike. This payday looks to be a very big spendfest.

Peg leg trousers are great to wear for a smart daytime look or for going out in the evening. They look great paired with a stylish crop top like Kimberley has or with a knit for during the day to keep warm in this cold cold weather.

Vivienne Westwood

I am completely and utterly obsessed with this woman's purses. Chancery is my favourite at the moment and I am seriously considering making the splurge to buy it when it comes to payday!

Black Chancery Purse
Red Rosso Purse

These two are my favourites and are just stunning and I would love them in my handbag which in a dreamworld would be Vivienne Westwood too! Here are some of my favourite Westwood pieces...

It's snowing...

So when I woke up this morning at around 7.30 the weather was fine, completely clear although the sky looked like a giant cotton wool ball. I had to get up for my English Literature Retake which went well...I think. And when we came out from the exam the school looked like this! Completely covered in snow. I'm now at home having a giant TV-athon. I've managed to watch Easy A already which is HILARIOUS and you need to see it if you haven't already!

Enjoy the snow and I'll be blogging soon as I have muchos time on my hands!

American Apparel Easy Jeans and the Topshop equivalent...

Okay...I'm in love with my American Apparel Easy Jeans. I got mine on eBay from an American seller which was a bit cheaper than the full price in store of £64 but honestly I think they're worth it. I have them in black and I'm definitely eyeing them in in the colour Zinfandel. They have 11 colours in total and are worth checking out if you want a staple pair of jeans.

Topshop have recently come out with a similar pair of jeans called the Joni Super High Waisted Jeans. From what I've researched they're basically the same but as I have the Easy Jeans I am a firm believer in the original. Here is the link for the Topshop equivalent if you don't want to break the bank...

Illamasqua are my new favourites...

So this month I have been introduced to Illamasqua as they had a great sale and I bought the light liquid foundation and the cream foundation. I thought the light liquid foundation was very similar to Mac Face and Body which gives you a great light coverage. The cream foundation comes in a great pot thing (Its hard to describe) that comes with a great mirror inside and a sponge. This foundation is great for during the day as it gives you more coverage than the light liquid. I will definitely be trying more products from Illamasqua. HOORAY for ILLAMASQUA.
